Uchali Lake

Uchali Lake Soon Valley

Uchali Lake is the most popular tourist attraction in the valley. This lake is formed due to the absence of drainage in the range. Sakaser, the highest mountain in the Salt Range at 1,522 metres (4,993 ft), looms over the lake. Due to its saline water the lake is lifeless, but offers picturesque scenery. The water of Lake Uchali is brackish and saline in nature and taking a bath in such water is not healthy, but the people who have certain skin conditions may recover. Boats are also available for boating. Uchali Lake attracts hundreds of migratory birds each year and is ideal haven for the bird watchers.

Update 9th August, 2023: Naushera to Uchali Lake road is in very bad condition. Uchali Lake full of algae with bad smell and mosquitoes. Visit in winter 2023.

  1. The road that leads into the lake is heavenly

  2. Nice place to visit, very cool and calm. You can get all the amenities from nearby village and this area is secure as well because it’s next to Air Force base. The entry goes inside deep into lake which gives you better view and feelings

  3. Visited Uchhali Lake during my survey tour with colleagues. In start of winter season birds from other parts of world migrated toward this spot that charms its beauty. Anyhow its also a nice place for tourism.

  4. A beautiful untouched lake and i recommend families and travellers who want to discover must visit this place. I request all please keep clean our lakes our assests and own them. Dont put plastic bottles wrappers in lakes and even pampers . Come here and feel the nature soul and its beauty. Preserve these assets for our coming generations because we borrow it from them.

  5. The lake is vast and has beautiful scenery all around, but being a saltwater lake and situated at a low altitude the weather has a lot of variation. We visited in summer(May), so the temperature was soaring and due to the humidity we could not stay for more than 1.5 hours. Perhaps visiting in a different season would have lead to a better experience, we were told that in winter many species of birds come to the lake from Siberia and Russia; and the lake has more ‘fresh water’ during the rainy season. Besides this boating is available in the lake, and a single shop is also present. I’d recommend bringing your own food and coming in a more pleasing weather so that you can fully enjoy the beautiful landscape. A fact which is evident is that this tourist spot has a lot of potential but is not being fully exploited, and looking at past photos, its condition is only getting worse.

  6. It was not a good place to visit in my views alot of mosquitoes n not a developed place.on the other hand khabaki lake was a choice.

    • Your are right.it is not developed.but if it is developed it can be one of the most beautiful places in pakistan expect of northern areas. This shows negligence of our tourism departmnet.
