Suggestions for tourists visiting Soon Valley

The lines I am going to write are in no way a complete guideline for the tourists but comprises some of the things visitors should be looking after during their tour. Firstly, the local person is a must if you are planning to visit some far off places in Soon Valley like Jahlar Lake, Nurshing Phoowar etc. The reason is that road to visit such places is in a form of web heading to different places which confuses the visitors sometimes. The language barrier is also a factor to consider in this regard. Then, a local person can also add to your knowledge about the history of certain places.

Secondly, most of the trips to soon are of university students nowadays. While everyone here can understand your enthusiasm on seeing lakes, ponds and waterfalls but it does not mean that you people should start howling like wolves here (no offense). I have observed this attitude at Uchaali Lake recently when the university students took to boating in the lake. The atmosphere is highly conservative in this area. People will not only consider you boors but also might scoff at you. While at such excursion trips, behave and act like university students and not like kindergarten students.

Thirdly, the driver of the bus or hi-ace should be experienced enough to handle vehicles on dangerous mountain routes in daylight as well as in the night time. There are many blind turns on the route and it is immensely difficult to drive at night.

Fourthly, before taking the tour, research thoroughly about the places to visit in soon valley, the residence (if you are planning to stay a night or so) and weather etc. Soon Valley is abundantly blessed by Allah with every kind and type of place which include lakes, water springs, waterfalls, ponds, temples, ruins and gardens. The weather will definitely play an important role in your trip as some places can be best enjoyed in some particular kind of weathers. There is a dearth of guest houses and hotels/motels in Soon, so it is better to know about them beforehand. Naushera is the main town to acquire every kind of facility like markets, banks, ATM’sand shopping.

Fifthly, kindly do not pollute the places you visit with wrappers, plastic bags and eatable stuff. You should not treat this area like you are visiting it for the first and last time. Instead, you should take care not to litter the place with waste materials. Keep an extra bag or shopper with you in which you can put the wrappers and other stuff like empty bottles/boxes etc. We are not promoting our valley to be polluted by outsiders. So, watch out for this advice specially.

Last but not least, schedule your trip according to the time. The guidance from a local person is the best option in this case. Believe me, if you have one day and you want to visit maximum places in Soon Valley, scheduling your time will be quite beneficial for quenching your thirst of exploring this beautiful and alluring valley.
